2017 was a year for growth at Make Do. We celebrated a number of project wins and boosted turnover by an impressive 40% while doubling the size of our team.
Banking on WordPress
We’ve continued to specialise in the WordPress platform which has now grown to almost 30% of all website use online. Our team has grown significantly and we’ve extended locations to Sheffield, Manchester and Essex while keeping our base of operations in Barnsley, South Yorkshire at the heart of the company.
New Clients & Agency Growth
Recent client wins include work for Doncaster Bassetlaw NHS Trust, food-related research programme Global Food Security (GFS) and Moonpig sister’s company Photobox. We’ve also recently completed major work with a national law company specialising in flight compensation, the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership and Lottery-funded organisation Fun Palaces.
The agency growth fits a pattern of remarkable tech success in the South Yorkshire region over the past few years, with Sheffield alone showing a turnover growth of 38%.
Sheffield is now home to a popular annual tech conference, FrontEndNorth (FEN), which is organised by our team and attracts speakers and attendees from all over the world.
We’re experiencing a fantastic period of growth which is built on our experience and reputation.
It’s fantastic to be part of a thriving UK digital scene and the FEN conferences we organise are a result of that thinking. We were thrilled with success of last year’s conference and are excited for the next event. We see this conference as a powerful tool in forging partnerships and economic growth, not just of Make Do but of the industry.
