Evolving Pickard’s Website with a Fresh Homepage and Custom Mega Menu

Launched in 2021, the Pickard website quickly became a central hub for their property business in Leeds. However, as the site grew, it soon began to outgrow its original design.

Just a few years into its development, Pickard approached Make Do to deliver a refreshed homepage and a bespoke navigation system that would better reflect their expanding services.

The rationale behind these changes was straightforward. With the addition of new sections and content, the original layout no longer met the long-term needs of the business. Our team used this opportunity to apply lessons learned since launch and deliver a new homepage that better communicates Pickard’s identity. The updated design highlights their properties and services, while presenting a clearer view of how they support both students and professionals across Leeds.

Alongside the homepage update, we designed and built a completely new navigation system. At its core is a custom mega menu featuring icons and images, giving users a more intuitive way to distinguish between student and professional sections. The navigation also highlights a new “Developments” section, which introduces dedicated sub-sites within the main structure to promote Pickard’s luxury developments—an important new focus for the business.
