A Full Website Overhaul
Make Do delivered a complete redesign and rebuild of Rainbird’s website after their legacy Elementor setup became unusable.

Rainbird, an AI and automation company, approached Make Do when their existing Elementor-based WordPress site became practically unusable.
Previous unnecessary and complex updates had left the system unstable, difficult to edit, and increasingly unreliable for the marketing team.
Reasons for Site Upgrade
Rainbird identified several critical limitations that were holding them back:
- No reliable way to measure user behaviour across the site.
- No visibility on ideal customer journeys between pages.
- Inability to understand individual page performance in search engines.
- No effective segmentation of traffic sources to focus on the most valuable.
- Limited or broken integrations with essential third-party tools like LinkedIn lead forms.
By late 2023, after supporting Rainbird for over 12 months, the decision was made to commission a complete redesign and rebuild.
This was not only a chance to replace the failing system but also to give the site a structural refresh and align it with Rainbird’s brand and business goals.
Elements to be Upgraded
The rebuild provided an opportunity to upgrade far more than just design. Key areas included:
- Brand and Messaging: refreshed positioning, value proposition, use cases, and product benefits.
- Visuals: new product representations and consistent brand codes.
- Information Architecture (IA): a fully restructured navigation system with a two-level mega menu, improved CTA design, clear URL taxonomy, and well-defined page types.
- Mobile and Accessibility: a mobile-first approach with compliance for form labels, alt text, and accessibility best practices.
- SEO Foundations: canonical links, schema, redirects, metadata, and trailing slashes.
- Technical Improvements: advanced event tracking, editable and hidden form fields, UTM parameter compatibility, CRM integration, GDPR compliance, and tracking pixel support.
Working closely with Rainbird’s internal team, we developed a fresh and professional design, supported by a fully custom mega menu to improve navigation. At the heart of the new build was a suite of bespoke Gutenberg blocks, created to give editors far greater consistency and control over content than had ever been possible in the previous setup.
A Rapid Turnaround
Despite the scale of the project, the rebuild was delivered in just 6–8 weeks. During this period we also implemented complex CRM integrations and a range of back-end refinements. Once the new site was launched, it was migrated to a stable, secure hosting platform to support future growth.
Since launch, the Rainbird website has gone through multiple iterations, benefiting from ongoing improvements and close collaboration with the Make Do team.
The result is a flexible, modern platform that continues to evolve alongside Rainbird’s fast-moving business.
