‘Bevan’ our NHS WordPress Theme
Bevan was our NHS WordPress open-source starter/boilerplate theme that our technical WordPress agency released a free community resource based on our experience working with NHS customers.
Technical Overview
In 2018 our custom WordPress development team were hard at work going through the NHS Front End Library to make components that can be re-used in WordPress all wrapped around a basic boilerplate theme.

- Styled Core Gutenberg Blocks
- Custom Gutenberg blocks
- Forms Elements
- etc…
The aim was to have this library available as WordPress Blocks (Gutenberg) and we’re using our popular ‘Block Stater Kit’ to help power any WordPress project.
This however never came to be as our partners at the NHS Leadership Academy eventually shipped the Nightingale theme but our work still stands as a great piece of Make Do history.
